Full Frontal Face Fuckers Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

We're 4 guys from Belgium with time to kill. Some of us have a main band, and this is more of a sideproject with old friends. We started in 2011 with no plan, just jamming every once in a while. And once we have some songs ready, we record them somewhere. It all sounds so exciting, I know. But we just love old school death metal and talking porn. Add some fine Belgian beer and you'll get a pretty good idea of how we spend our time at rehearsals.

2.Recently you have released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

It's our first album, but it's not really an album album. It's a compilation of all our recordings. Some people think it's a 'best of' album, and even though they are right, it's really an 'all of' album at the moment. We have had different recording session since we started. This is all of 'em, and then some!

The main ingredient is Death Metal, with a filthy old school punk/grind feel. We like it raw, not that clean overproduced sound you hear too much nowadays.

3.You label your music as 'deathpornpunk', can you tell us a little bit more about this term?

Well, in the past we have used a lot of terms, but we have now settled on Deathspunk. It's a nod to Turbonegro, with their 'deathpunk'. We added an 'S', to take it to the next level.

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?

Funny you ask this, because I was thinking for my next lyric to write about your mom giving me the best rimjob ever, but it's not set in stone.

5.Have you had any problems with the more sensitive and politically correct side  of the underground scene over your name and lyrics?

We've had some complaints about the name, not about the meaning, but about the name itself. I guess it's a matter of taste. The name covers the music perfectly. And a Belgian grindcore icon was disappointed with our lyrics. But hey, everybody has an opinion, what are you gonna do about it? Like Jeff Walker (Carcass) stated on his country album: "Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke."

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?

We don't play live. That's another nod, this one's to Darkthrone. If we would play live, it would be for a special occasion and our performance would be over the top and brutal!

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Well, as a matter of fact, we're gonna take your mom on a TOUR downunder and SHOW her a good time.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

A little help from a label would be nice, but it's not our main goal. We just want to get the name out there. There was some interest for different splitep's, but it all fell through because of budget reasons. People say "you gotta play live", but I'm not convinced. You gotta play live, if you want to earn money, if you want to get big, blabla... That's not why we do this. We just want some recognition from people who like this kind of music. We know it's not the most popular style of music, even within death metal! We do this for us.

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death metal and grindcore?

If you take in consideration that we don't play live and we can't push ourselves on facebook because of the name (fuck anyone?)... It's just great that people from Portugal, France, Denmark, Russia, Pakistan... get in contact and support us on bandcamp and facebook.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

More of the same, but then faster... harder... SCOOTER!

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Influences vary from death, black, rock, hardcore, punk, grind... Ofcourse there's Autopsy, Pungent Stench, Gut, Abscess, Blood Duster... but the list goes on and on. We constantly give nods to everything we listen to. I can probably give you a reference for every song we have and it can be in the music or in the lyrics. For instance, there's Burzum meets Autopsy in 'Wait For You', but there's also Obituary 'Cum Gums' or Danko Jones, Bewitched, Sick Of It All 'My Dick Never Sleeps'... even a tribute to Twisted Sister with our 'Fisted Sister', the lyrics are filled with references to a lot of their titles! We do whatever we feel like. As long as it works for us.

I'm an old school music fan: I buy music... a lot! Mainly metal, and rock with balls, but sometimes other stuff too. The latest album that has really blown me away is the new Bombus. Great album. Other stuff on my playlist this week: Brujeria, Agrypnie, Nausea, Inquisition, October Tide... I could go on for a while.

12.What are some of your non musical interests?

Pretty much everything your mom likes to do, I'm easy that way. I won't say she is too, but you catch my drift. She sure did.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks for the interest and support. We'll thank your mom again later. To the readers, check us out, buy our album for only €10 (p&p incl.) worldwide!! Support the underground. Rock and fuck Hard!
