Revolting Interview

> 1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
>
> The new album, Hymns of Ghastly Horror, is just about to be released. Other than that we are not doing much, we are awaiting the storm of praise or shit haha. Hopefully itll be mostly praise as we are very satisfied with this album.
>
>
> 2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it differs from previous recordings?
>
> Revolting as its own sound I think, but album by album we have moved more towards catchy choruses within the more heavy and old school stuff. So I think this album is just that, heavy and dirty but with a good amount of catchiness and good choruses thrown in there as well. Also the sound is the best so far for Revotling. Ronnie Björnström really mixed and mastered this album well. Its very heavy and powerful.
>
>
> 3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the new release explores?
>
> Its like on the previous album, a bunch of classic horror movies that are the base for the lyrics. dez who writes the lyrics, aswell as does the artworks and layout, is a horror movie freak, he knows everything really and his lyrics are awesome versions of the moives really. Also theres one song not based on a movie, Kinderfeeder, which is just as creepy though.
>
>
> 4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
>
> that you will have to ask Billy at Razorback Records haha! The name was his idea, just as the idea for the band really. But I think he simply wanted a name that described the music and lyrics, and I think its a killer name.
>
>
> 5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would your stage performance?
>
> revotling has not played any shows! we are a studio band only, at least so far. we have had offers, very good offers, but we feel that we want to spend our time on the albums instead. But you never know, one day we might get ready for live shows as well.
>
>
> 6. Do you have any touring plans for the new release?
>
> No.
>
>
> 7. On a worldwide level hos has the feedback been to your music by death metal fans?
>
> the feedback has been just great, reviews and comments from fans has been so good. it seems we do something right, as so many people seem to enjoy our music and albums.
>
>
> 8. What is going on with the other musical projects these days?
>
> Paganizer will do a new album in april next year, the Grotesquery just released an album, also there are plans for new Demiurg stuff, might or might not happen though. Time will tell.
>
>
> 9. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
>
> I think this album aswell as the last one is really how I want Revolting to sound. I want it to sound more like this really haha, more melodies and more hevainess, and and killer mixing aswell. So we will work to make every album better than the previous, as we have done that so far I think.
>
>
> 10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
>
> For Revolting I must say that both death metal aswell as dbeat and melodic punk has been something weve listened to and taken feeling from. new music Im playing these days rae Blood Mortized and puteraeon, two excellent bands with great new albums out that everyone should check out.
>
>
> 11. Outside of music what are some of your interests?
>
> Drinking beer, and hanging out with my family. Im very simple haha.
>
>
> 12. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Ofcorpse! Check out the new Revolting album! If you like catchy heavy rotten death metal, i think you will like it!

Bombs Of Hades/The Serpent's Redemption/Pulverised Records/2012 CD Review

Bombs  Of  Hades  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  plays  a  mixture  of  death  metal  and  crust  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  album  "The  Serpent's  Redemption"  which  was  released  by  Pulverised  Records.

Drums  range  from slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  old  school  Swedish  death  metal  with  crust  punk  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  chaotic  sounding  crust  punk  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  they  use  finger  picking  to  add  another  dimension  of  darkness  to  the  music.

Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  death  metal  screams  and  growls  with  some  hardcore  style  vocals  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  lyrics  cover  gore  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Bombs  Of  Hades  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  death  metal  and  crust  punk and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style  of  music,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Darkness,  My  Soul"  "The  Serpent's  Redemption"  and  "Incubus  Descending".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
