Into The Arcane are a band from Germany that plays a mixture of atmospheric doom rock and death metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Het Verlangen Der Geest" which will be released in June by Vic Records.
Atmospheric and symphonic sounding synths start off the ep along with some clean guitars a few seconds later which also leads up to a heavier musical direction which also introduces death metal growls onto the recording along with all of the instruments having a very powerful sound to t hem.
A great amount of 90's doom and death metal influences can be heard in the bands musical style while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain very true to an old school style and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along a small amount of blast beats.
Into The Arcane plays a musical style that takes 90's death metal and mixes it in with atmospheric doom rock to create a sound of t heir own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the darker corners of t he mind and arcane historic tales.
In my opinion Into The Arcane are a very great sounding mixture of atmospheric doom rock and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Glass King" and "The Slumber Of Man". 8 out of 10.
