Goreaphobia are a band from Pennsylvania that has a histroy that dates as far back as the early 90's and also had one of t heir e.p's reviewed in this zine before and the style they play on the new album is classic sounding death metal with some black and thrash metal influences and this is a review of their 2011 album "Apocalyptic Necromancy" which was released by Dark Descent Records.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast old school sounding death metal riffs that also contain influences from thrash and black metal with a great amount of melody being thrown in at times, while the lead guitars are very chaotic and melodic sounding death metal guitar solos.
Vocals are a mixture of deep growls and black/thrash style screams and yells, while the lyrics touch on Necromantic, Occultic and Left Hand Path themes, as for the production it has a verty dark, raw and heavy sound to it.
In my opinion while this is a little bit different than most of the material that I have heard from Goreaphobia I still feel that their fans while enjoy their album and this recording is proof that when someone walks the Left hand Path for more than 20 years it is going to influence whatever peice of music or art that they create, and if you are a fan of this band you should check out this album. All Pigs Must Die/God Is War/Southern Lord Records/2011 CD Review
All Pigs Must Die are a band from Massachuesetts that mixes d-beat style crust/grind with Swedish style death metal and this is a review of their 2011 album "God Is War" which was released by Southern Lord Records.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown in, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with riffing that combines crust/punk with death metal.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffing that combines the agression of crust punk with the brutality of death metal and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly crust/hardcore style yelling mixed in with some death metal influences and slight growls, while the lyrics cover hateful, negative and everyday themes, as for the production it has a very heavy and raw sound to it while still being professional enough up to the point where you can hear all of the musical instruments.

Crippling Fear/2010 Demo Review
Crippling Fear are a band from Boston, Massachuessetts that plays a mixture of hardcore, crust and grindcore and this is a review of their 2010 demo.
Drums are very basic with a mixture of slow and fast drumming with some blast beats thrown in, while the bass playing has a very powerful sound with alot of punk influenced grind riffs.
Guitars are a mixture of some slow but mostly fast riffs that mix punk, hardcore and grind together with little to no lead guitars.
Vocals alternate between hardcore style yelling and grindcore screams, while the lyrics are very hateful towards humanity, as for the production it is very raw and heavy.
In my opinion Crippling Fear are a very good hardcore/grind band that should appeal to all fans of that genre. RECOMMENDED BUY.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?
Fetebob; We are a band that are against war and the greedy moneymongers who fund them. Governments are bought and sold like stocks in the market. There is no security for the general anymore. Even if we are against war we support revolutions, sometimes its neacessary to use force. People in power choose violence for us, they are responsible. we play simple raw d-beat hard core... sweden is a deciving country in many ways but its pretty easy to find rehearsal place and to record here. We have been around for a while and have lots of releases. Unfortunatly we havent played any shows due to problems with members, we havent had a steady line up.
2. What is the meaning behind the bands name?
well, its a homage to all those who die in wars contsructed and funded by governments in the name of peace. All leaders and all goverments around the world are responsible for people dying. The name also reflect the struggle to survive withing a system who hates you and wants you dead.. There is a war going on towards all less fortunate people and we didnt choose that, they did it for us. The are gonna taste steal.
3. How would you describe your musical sound?
D-beat raw punk with swedish, english and japanese influences. our sound comes from the heart and it depends on what moode we are on. We use tube amps and lots of pedals.
4. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
As mentioned above, we havent played any shows during our existance, we have lots of other bands that we play with.. we are spread across the country and that doesnt help with the practicing situation. Our stage preformance would be "let everything go" the hatred and frustration buildt up inside will come lose some day. why not make it into a live situation?
5. Are there any plans to tour the United States?
When we are a real band we will try to tour everywhere.. unfortunatly im not allowed into the us for another 2 years so no visit there. There are lots of good people and bands in the us.. sad that i cant go.

7. Out off all the releases that you have put out so far which one are you the most satisfied with?
I havent been in the band from the, we are war beginning but i have always been updated with the stuff cause we are good friends. The idea about this and started somewhere 2005 i think.. personally i like "krigsoffer" 7", Split lp with flyblown, "domedagen" lp and Most they did between "lögnen om fredsavtalet" and when i joined. I really like the outcome of "Thrash punk terror rampage" 7" which isnt out yet.
8.How would you describe the lyrical content of the music?
Jocke is really into reading about war and has alot of good points when we discuss it. the lyrics are very well thought out and nothing that just comes into your mind.. there has been so many wars and the strategy and awareness is different from eachother. War is created by greedy rich cunts who never see the reality of their decissons. Those who are really affected by their stupid shit are innocent human beings trying to survive, like in all countries, we are all warvictims.
9. I have read in a previous interview that you also have a zine that is done by some of the band members, can you tell us a little bit about the zine and what kinds of music that you cover?
I had nothing to do with the zine. It was a hoax alltogether but it made a remark in the swedish scene. It was made to be controvential, most have an aspect of it. When people make themselves too big they cant see what they do wrong. Its not about what you say in a magazine, its what you actually do and what you contribute with. Those who complain usualy dont do shit and have nothing to show for their name. This is not some funny Hobby, this is life.
10. Are there anty current side projects going on besides this band, if so who are they and what kind of music do they play?
Yeah ofcourse there is projects, warvictims is a project aswell. I play in alot of bands, its not really neacessary to list them all but for Giftgasattack i play guitar and bass for martyrdöd. Jocke A plays shitty hip hop. JOcke d-takt do vocals for Totalt jävla mörker and is a member of Medborgargardet which is a swedish hiphop-collective, he has a band called electric funeral that is great. He also play in this band desperat.
11. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and what are you listening to nowadays?
Well, one kind of music has influenced us through the whole game and that is the straight forward raw punk that is made in japan today and sweden and england during the 80s -90s. when it comes to listening its too much to list. since i am one of the collective i want the best for everyone. We endulge everything that is good in any way. Disclose and gism are my faves.. i dont know about the others sorry. Everything that has a point and makes you shine is important, no heroes, no masters, we are all equall.
12. What are some of your interests outside of music?
Since everything is lame in sweden there is not so much to give attention to. I like theatre and movies, arts and photo. When people can stand for their opinions we will again have a flourishing punk community. In my opinion most people can fuck off and die.

"Life is no game and its not for the weak" be proud of who you are and stand your ground no matter what. Raw punk is what we live for. When i have the oppourtunity, read books by emma goldman and Emiliano Zapata. Im not really encountered with so much litterature fromout sweden. I read alot of feminist material which is important for me. Reacently alot of good people have been exposed to the public. i want to promote More Noize fanzine from London, Contorture band from gothenburg and Vixenish from japan.. Travell and see the world, there is so much out there more than lameass redneck lifestyly, peope in swedde are suckers and not evolving. Ozzy said once" you are no different from me" and that is still true. Those who put them selves on pedistals have lost their right to live. Warvictims/Domegadon/2010 CD Review
Warvictims are a band from Sweden that plays D beat style crust/grind and this is a review of their 2010 album "Domegadon".
Drums are very fast and brutal with alot of blast beats while the bass playing has a very powerful tone with alot of fast riffs and it is one of the most powerful instruments on this album.
Rhythm guitars are very fast guitar riffs that mix thrashcore, punk and grindcore together while the lead guitars are very noisy and chaotic guitar solos.
Vocals are mostly hardcore style growls mixed with some high pitched crust/grind screaming, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Swedish and are about the destruction of mankind, as for the production it has a very heavy and powerful sound that captures all of the instruments.
In my opinion Warvictims are a very good D beat crust/grind band and if you are a fan of this style you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "No Sign Of Life" "The Aftermath Of A Nuclear War" "Utplanad" and "A Glimpse Of Hell". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Arkhum Interview
1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Certainly! Arkhum is currently in the process of quite a few things. We've been hard at work writing our second album and getting things set for future EPs and splits. We have demoed about 6 new tracks that will appear on our second album.
2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album, and how does it differ from previous releases?
When we first started recording Anno Universum in April 2010, we set out to make a death metal album. While Arkhum definitely has death metal elements to our music, we also have a blackened tint that is quite prevalent.
3. What are some of the lyrical topics and concepts the new release explores?
Our vocalist, Kenneth, wrote all of the lyrics on Anno Universum and those include a few topics. His work is highly influenced by H.P. Lovecraft and general science fiction elements. I would suggest everyone read the lyrics and decide for yourself.
4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the band's name?
The idea for our name popped into my head late one night when talking with my older brother. We both realized that for as long as we could remember Batman was a
5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
One of the best crowds we've played for was when we opened for 3 Inches Of Blood and Toxic Holocaust back in 2007. While our performance wasn't the greatest, the crowd definitely made up for it. I would describe our live show as "entertaining."
6. Do you have any touring plans for the new releases?
We plan on doing some US touring later this Sumemr and Fall, but no definite dates as of yet.
7. On a worldwide level how has your music been received by brutal death metal fans?
So far the response to Anno Universum seems pretty great. We've had a couple bad reviews here and there, but you can't please everyone, right?
8. What is going on with the side projects these days?
Most of us have our fingers in quite a few different things at the moment. I have a more blackened/sludge project in the works entitled The Will Of A Million, which will release an album later this Summer called "A Lull." I also mix and master music from my home in Washington state during my down time. Our bassist, Matt, is working on a few albums at the moment under the names Crystal Shyps and Terra Deep. Kenneth is currently in the process of starting his own record label entitled Glossolalia Records and releasing music in the black metal bands Earthenwomb and Consuming The Void. Lastly, our drummer Armen Koroghlian is playing with the Oregon bands The Fool and Soulscythe.
9. What direction do you see the music heading into on future releases?
I guess the only way I could explain the new style is 'progressive.' I don't mean that our next album will sound like a King Crimson release, or anything, but our sound is definitely expanding. With every band we all start listening to a new influence is logged into our brains; whether it's consciously or subconsciously.
10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
During the writing process of Anno I was influenced by quite a few different artists. I was listening to a lot of Nile, Decrepit Birth, Severed Savior, Protest The Hero and Wolves In The Throne Room. Recently I've been listening to the newest releases from Deafheaven, Alcest, Les Discrets, Triptykon and Agalloch.
11. What role does Science Fiction and Cosmology play in the music?
While it's not very evident on Anno Universum, our newer music takes a more atmospheric/ethereal turn at times. Most of the science fiction elements only come through in our lyrics, but sometimes our muisc can have that "spacey" feel to it.
12. outside of music what are some of your interests?
I'm very much into photography and I'm a huge film nerd. I watch way too many movies than any other human should. Aside from that, I don't have much else.
13.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
I'd like thank all the supporters we have around the globe. I promise our second album will be worlds better than Anno Universum.

2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album, and how does it differ from previous releases?
When we first started recording Anno Universum in April 2010, we set out to make a death metal album. While Arkhum definitely has death metal elements to our music, we also have a blackened tint that is quite prevalent.

Our vocalist, Kenneth, wrote all of the lyrics on Anno Universum and those include a few topics. His work is highly influenced by H.P. Lovecraft and general science fiction elements. I would suggest everyone read the lyrics and decide for yourself.

One of the best crowds we've played for was when we opened for 3 Inches Of Blood and Toxic Holocaust back in 2007. While our performance wasn't the greatest, the crowd definitely made up for it. I would describe our live show as "entertaining."

Most of us have our fingers in quite a few different things at the moment. I have a more blackened/sludge project in the works entitled The Will Of A Million, which will release an album later this Summer called "A Lull." I also mix and master music from my home in Washington state during my down time. Our bassist, Matt, is working on a few albums at the moment under the names Crystal Shyps and Terra Deep. Kenneth is currently in the process of starting his own record label entitled Glossolalia Records and releasing music in the black metal bands Earthenwomb and Consuming The Void. Lastly, our drummer Armen Koroghlian is playing with the Oregon bands The Fool and Soulscythe.

I guess the only way I could explain the new style is 'progressive.' I don't mean that our next album will sound like a King Crimson release, or anything, but our sound is definitely expanding. With every band we all start listening to a new influence is logged into our brains; whether it's consciously or subconsciously.
10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
During the writing process of Anno I was influenced by quite a few different artists. I was listening to a lot of Nile, Decrepit Birth, Severed Savior, Protest The Hero and Wolves In The Throne Room. Recently I've been listening to the newest releases from Deafheaven, Alcest, Les Discrets, Triptykon and Agalloch.
11. What role does Science Fiction and Cosmology play in the music?
While it's not very evident on Anno Universum, our newer music takes a more atmospheric/ethereal turn at times. Most of the science fiction elements only come through in our lyrics, but sometimes our muisc can have that "spacey" feel to it.
12. outside of music what are some of your interests?
I'm very much into photography and I'm a huge film nerd. I watch way too many movies than any other human should. Aside from that, I don't have much else.

Arkhum/Anno Universum/Vendulus Records/2011 CD Review
Arkhum are a band from Oregon that plays a very technical form of death metal with a blackened edge and this is a review of their 2011 album "Anno Universum" which was released by Vendulus Records.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing sounds very powerful and brutal with riffs that are very easy to hear at times, with some ocassional; use of pianos.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast brutal death metal riffs that are very technical sounding at times and there are some grindcore influences in the riffing, while the lead guitars are hearing brutal and technical sounding death metal guitar solos, as for the accoustic guitars when they are utilized they bring a Middle Eastern sound to the music.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls with some high pitched screams that mix grindcore and black metal together, while the lyrics cover Science Fiction, Space and Cosmology, as for the production it sounds very heavy and professional with all of the musical instruments having a very brutal sound to them.
In my opnion Arkhum are a vey good brutal death metal band with a blackened edge, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Grief Urchin" "Bloodgetter Encircling" and "Nilpulse". RECEMMONDED BUY.
