Retortion Terror/Invidiosus Split Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Invid: Sometimes we sell oatmeal at our shows.
RT: Just a Grindcore band.

2.How would you describe your musical sound?

Invid: anxiety-grind.
RT: Fast blastbeat and strong riffs.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you explore with your music/

Invid: Depression, paranoia, gringos
RT: Life.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Retortion Terror'?

RT: RT: Retortion is a basically a French word. It is use in political international relationship to mean "strike back" without military forces. Terror do not affect gouvernements but civilians directly. Retortion terror probably means attack a nation by punishing the population without using force in order to stay in the good ones. 

5.I have read that the guitarist had a brain infection a year ago a few years ago that made it nearly impossible to play guitar again, can you tell us a little bit more about the recovery?

RT: A lot of rehabilitation, practice of Guitar and karate.
They were so hard and dangerous.
I had gave up all. But I decided to fight with myself.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Invid: In 2016, a festival we played in La Paz, Bolivia. Also our first sold-out show, which was with Pig Destroyer in Minneapolis, MN.

RT:For us, show is still practice.
Because we are on the way of improvement.
We can't understand our performance now.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Invid: Japan/S. Korea in October and November of 2017.

RT: I hope so. But we need practice before that.

8.Recently you where a part of a split with 'Invidiosus', what are your thoughts on the other band that had participated on the recording?

RT: My thoughts are always "we must practice".

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of grindcore?

RT/Invid: Ummmm...I have no idea.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Invid: Hopefully write and record some really weird shit.
RT: Grindcore world

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Invid: Gridlink, Suffocation, Cephalic Carnage, Wormrot, Steve Vai, Motorhead, Pink Floyd.

RT: So many bands. I have loved Aphex twin for a long time.

12.What are some of your non musical interests?

Invid: Pro wrestling, boxing and jiu jitsu, photography, candle-making, traveling.
RT: Karate.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Invid: Thanks for your time.
We practice harder to make strong grindcore.
