This is a review of a 4 way split between Greece's Teknokrater, Corrodent, U.S.A's Lord Cernunnos and Sweden's Chikari which was released by Skitnaste and we will start off the review with Teknokrater a band that plays noisegrind.
Their side of the split starts out with spoken word samples before gong into a very fast and brutal grindcore direction along with some growls and high pitched noisecore screams while the music also brings in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover political themes.
In my opinion Teknokrater are a very great sounding noisegrind band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
Next up is Corrodent a solo project continuing his mixture of grindcore, d beat and death metal.
His side of the split starts out with a very brutal grindcore style while the faster sections of the songs bring in a great amount of blast beats along with the vocals being mostly death metal growls as well as both of the tracks being very short in length, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover angry themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Corrodent and if you are a fan of grindcore, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "No Brain".
Next up is Lord Cernunnos a solo project that plays harsh noise.
His side of the split starts out with harsh noises and power electronics while also capturing some field recordings along with all of the musical being instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Lord Cernunnos is a very great sounding harsh noise project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out his side of the split.
Closing the split is Chikari a band that plays a very raw mixture of crust and hardcore punk.
Their side of the split starts out with slow yet heavy riffing before going into a faster direction which also uses a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly angry screams and growls while the music mixes grind, crust and hardcore punk together along with the guitar solos sounding very chaotic and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to t hem, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover political themes.
In my opinion Chikari are a very great sounding raw mixture of crust and hardcore punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Animal Testing".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of noise, crust and grindcore. 8 out of 10.
