Goreaphocia are a band from Philladelphia that plays a brutal style of Gore/Death Metal and this is a review of their 1993 E.P which was released by Relapse Records.
Drums range from slow to midpaced beats mixed in with alot of fast playing as well as brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a mixture of slow to fast riffs that follow the guitars.
Rhythm guitars are tuned down very low and there is alot of fast death metal riffing mixed in with alot of slow to midpaced playing that has a slight thrash influence while the guitar leades are very distorted and noisy with alot of melody being utilized.
Vocals are mostly low pitched death metal growls with some high pitched screams that have a black metal feel on the bonus track being utilized at times while the lyrics seem to be a mixture of gore as well as occult topics, as for the production it is very raw sounding while retaining a professional feel.
In my opinion Goreaphobia are a very great old school death metal band and if you a fan of old school death metal you probably already got this album in your collection. RECOMMENDED BUY
