Exhumed are a band from San Jose, California that -plays a brutal form of music which I would describe of gore death/grind and this is a review of their classic 1999 album "Gore Metal" which was released by Relapse Records.
Drums are very fast and brutal with alot of blast beats while the bass playing is mixed down low in the mix and it is all rhythm bass riffs that follows the guitars and at times it has very very powerful sound that you can hear.
Rhythm guitars are a mixture between midpaced and fast brutal death metal riffs with alot of grindcore style speeds while the lead guitars are fast and noisy guitar solos that have some melody.
Vocals are a mixture between low pitched death metal growls mixed in with some high pitched grindcore screams while the lyrics are very gory and deal with many different types of body parts, as for the production on this recording which was recorded at Burnt Offerings Studios by Maurice Acevedo during the month of July during 1998 and mixed by James Murphy sounds very raw while retaining a professional feel
In my opinion this was a classic fro Exhumed who are one of the best gore grind/death metal and if you are a fan of this music you probably already have this album. STANDOUT TRACKS INCLUDE "Necromaniac" "Enucleation" "in My Human Slaughterhouse" "Blazing Corpse" and "Sodomy And Lust". RECOMMENDED BUY
