Exhumed are a band from San Jose, California that has their previous material reviewed by this zine that plays a mixture of noise, grindcore and death metal to create their own form of gore metal and this is a review of their live performance at Maryland DeathFest in 2011.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine grindcore, noise, death metal and thrash to create some brutal riffing, while the lead guitars are very distorted and chaotic sounding death/gore metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are a mixture of deep death metal grows and high pitched death/thrash screams, while the lyrics cover gore themes, as for the production it is recorded live and has a very raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion this is a great live performance from Exhumed and if you are a fan of this band, you have probably already seen them live. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "All Guts No Glory" "Waxwork" "As Hammer To Anvil" and "Open The Abscess". RECEMMONDED.
