Revolting/Hymns Of Ghastly Horror/FDA Rekotz/2012 CD Review

Revolting  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  mixes  old  school  Swedish  style  death  metal  with  melodic death,  crust  and  d  beat  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  album  "Hymns  Of  Ghastly  Horror"  which  was  released  by  FDA  Rekotz.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  tone  with  heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combines  both  traditional  and  melodic  Swedish  death  metal  with  crust  and  d  beat  along  with  a  great  amount  of  dark  riffing  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  death  metal guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  range  from  deep  sounding  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  screams  as well  as  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  samples,  while  the  lyrics  cover  horror  and  sci  fi  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Revolting  are  a  very  great  sounding  Swedish  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style  of  music,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Mother  Of  Darkness" "The  Black  Queen"  "Pray  To  Katahdin"  and  "The  Hatchet  Murders".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
