Huoripukki are a band from Finland that plays an old school mixture of death metal, thrash and punk and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Voima On Oikeutta" which was released by Caligari Records.
Heavy riffs and angry death metal growls start off the ep along with some screams which also leads to guitar leads being introduced on the recording and the music is also very heavily rooted in the early 90's and morbid sounding melodies can also be heard in the music at times.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also incorporating a great amount of punk and thrash elements and the music always remains very heavy.
Huoripukki plays a musical style that takes old school death metal, thrash and hardcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics are writing in Finnish and cover Satanism themes.
In my opinion Huoripukki are a very great sounding old school mixture of death metal, thrash and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Voima On Oikeutta" and "Suttern Verta". 8 out of 10.
