Resonance Cascade/Cricketcemetary/2014 7 Inch Review

  Resonance  Cascade  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  plays  a  mixture  of  grindcore  and  power  violence  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  7  Inch  which  will  be  released  by  CricketCemetary.

  Dark  sound  effects  start  off  the  7  inch  and  after  the  intro  the  music  goes  into  a  very  fast  and  brutal  grindcore  direction  along  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  as  well  as  addign  in  some  high  pitched  crustcore  style  screams  and  the  band  also  brings  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Al  of  the  music  on  this  recording  is  very  brutal  and  the  band  avoids  using  any  melody,  solos  or  guitar  leads  and  concentrates  on  creating  more  of  a  very  heavy  and  raw  sound  and  all  of t he  songs  are  in  the  mid  80's  to  90's  style  of  crust  and  grind  as  well  as  all  of  the  songs  being  short  in  length  and  the  longest  one  does  not  even  hit  the  2  minute  mark.

  Resonance  Cascade  creates  some  very  brutal  and  old  school  sounding  power  violence  grind  and  every  second  of  this  recording  sticks  to  a  very  raw  and  aggressive  sound,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  yet  powerful  at  the  same  time  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent  and  hateful  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Resonance  Cascade  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  brutal  mixture  of  power  violence  and  grindcore  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of   those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Three  Color  Fabric"  "Slowly  Encircled"  "Decline"  and  "Another  Corpse  in  The  Street".  8  out  of  10.      

Soil Of Ignorance/Grind Winter/2012 Cassette Review

  Soil  Of  Ignorance  are  a  band  from  Canada  that  plays  a  mixture  of  punk,  grind  and  power  violence  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2012  ep  "Grind  Winter".

  Harsh  noise  style  sounds  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  spoken  word  samples  before  going  into  a  fast  fast  and  brutal  power  violence  grindcore  direction  along  with  some  crust  style  yells  and  blast  beats  and  after  awhile  growls  are  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  and  they  also  keep  the  samples  on  later  songs.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to them  and  they  keep  all  of  the  songs  in  a  fast  and  brutal  direction  while  only  slowing  down  for  a  few  seconds  and  they  ignore  all  use  of  melody,  solos  and  leads  to  create  some  very  heavy  and  brutal  grind  throughout  the  recording  and  they  also  do  a  cover  of  Disharmonic  Orchestra's  "Putried  Stench".

  Soil  of  Ignorance  plays  a  very  brutal  style  of  power  violence  and  grind  that  is  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  tradition  of  this  genre  and  they  also  stay  away  from  the  weaker  elements  that  modern  bands  of  this  genre  are  known  to  bring  in  their  music,  the  production  sounds  very  heavy  and  brutal  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent,  hateful,  gore  and  grindcore  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Soil  of  Ignorance  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  punk,  grind  and  power  violence  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should c heck  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Devastate"  "Disarmed  Them  Apart"  "Putrid  Stench"  and  "Raw  Power  Grind".  8  out  of  10.       

RetardNation/Industry Of Pain/2014 EP Review

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  RetardNation  which  shows  them  continuing  their  fast  and  brutal  mixture  of  death  metal,  grind,  hardcore  and  punk  with  the  ep  being  self  released  in  2014  and  called  "Industry  Of  Pain".

  A  sample  form  a  movie  starts  off  the  recording  which  they  also  use  on  one  of  the  later  tracks  as  well  and  then  a  very  fast  and  brutal  grindcore  sound  starts  to  kick  in  along  with  some  blast  beats  and  the  vocals  using  a  mixture  of  growls  and  screams  and  you  can  hear  some  elements  of  power  violence  in  the  bands  musical  style.

  The  music  on  this  ep  is  a  lot  more  faster  and  brutal  than  the  first  recording  with  all  of  the  songs  sticking  to  a  fast   direction  on  all  of  the  tracks  and  just  like  with  the  previous  recording  all  4  songs  are  very  short  in  length.

     RetardNation  manages  to  create  some  of  the  most  aggressive  and  brutal  punk/death/grind  on  this  recording  and  never  having  a  soft  or  slow  moment,  the  production  sound s very  raw  and  brutal  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent  and  hateful  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  RetardNation  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  brutal  grind  or  crust,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Prisoner  Of  Life"  and  "Industry  Of  Pain".  8  out  of  10.         

RetardNation/Tortured to Death/2013 EP Review

  RetardNation  are  a  band  from  Canada  that  plays  a  mixture  of  punk,  death,  grind,  and  hardcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2013  ep  "Tortured  to  Death".

  Spoken  word  samples  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  very  slow  and  heavy  sound  which  leads  up  to  a  hast  crust/grind  sound  that  also  utilizes  blast  beats,  deep  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  screams  as  well  as  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  All  of  the  tracks  are  very  short  in  length  with  the  longest  one  being  only  a  little  over  a  minute  and  a  half  and  the  band  avoids  any  use  of  melodies,  solos,  and  leads  and  focuses  more  on  a  very  fast,  heavy  and  brutal  sound  and  they  also  bring  back  to  the  spoken  word  sample s on  a  later  track..

  RetardNation  takes  the  heaviest,  rawest  and  brutal  elements  of  death  metal,  grind,  hardcore  and  punk  to  create  some  music  that  is  very  heavy  from  beginning  to  end,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent  themes.

  In  my  opinion  RetardNation  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  death  metal,  grind,  hardcore  and  punk  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Red  Alert"  and  "Tortured  To  Death".  8  out  of  10.      

Fucking Invincible/It'll Get Worse Before It Gets Better/Atomic Action!/2014 Vinyl Review

  Fucking  Invincible  are  a  band  from  Rhode  Island  that  plays  a  mixture  of  hardcore,  crust  and  grind  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  album  "It'll  get  Worse  Before  it  gets  Better"  which  was  released  by  Atomic  Action!.

  A  very  old  school  grindcore  album  starts  off  the  album  along  with  crust  style  high  pitched  screams  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  band  using  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  throughout  the  recording.

  You  can  hear  a  lot  of  old  school  punk  rock  in  the  bands  musical  style  and  after  awhile  spoken  word  parts  can  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  and  the  band  has  a  musical style  that  is  closer  to  the  more  raw  origins  of  crust  and  grind  with  all  of  the  sound s sounding  like  they  could  of  been  recorded  20  years  ago  and  there  is  no  solos  or  leads  present  anywhere  on  the  recording.

  Fucking  Invincible  creates  an  album  that  takes  the  rawest  elements  of  grind,  crust  and  hardcore  to  create  some  very  heavy,  brutal  and  old  school  music  that  stays  away  from  all  of  the  modern  trends  and  shows  what  this  genre  was  meant  to  sound  like  like,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent,  hateful,  and  real  life  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Fucking  Invincible  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  grind,  hardcore  and  crust  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Dead  Dogs"  "Josephine"  "Open  All  Night"  and  "Nothing,  No  One".  8  out  of  10.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording h ave  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  you  can  hear  a  good  amount  of  death  metal  being  mixed  in  with  the  brutal  grindcore  elements  and  the  band  avoids  using  any  solos  and  leads  to  focus  on  making  an  album  that  is  very  raw,  heavy  and  brutal  sounding.  and  the  spoken  word  samples  also  make  a  return  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording.

  Suffering  Quota  takes  the  heaviest  elements  of  death  metal,  grind  hardcore  and  power  violence  to  create  an  album  that  is  very  raw,  brutal  and  aggressive  sounding  from  beginning  to  end,  the production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  violent  themes.

Sewer Trench/Self Titled/Torn Flesh Records/2014 EP Review

  Sewer  Trench  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom  that  plays  a  mixture  of  crust,  grind  and  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2014  ep  which  was  released  by  Torn  Flesh  Records.

  A  very  heavy  and  old  school  sound  starts  off  the  ep  before  speeding  up  and  adding  in  a  mixture  of  d  and  blast  beats  which  also  leads  up  to  high  pitched  screams  being  added  into  the  music  as  well  as  adding  in  some  death  metal  growls  and  the  band  also  uses  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  all  6  of  the  tracks  stick  to  a  mid  80's  to  early  90's  style  of   crust,  grind  and  metal  and  all  of  the  tracks  also  sound  like  they  could  of  been  recorded  and  released  during  that  time  era  and  at  time s you  can  also  hear  elements  of  thrashcore in  their  musical  style a nd  on  the  last  track  clean  playing  is  added  into  the  music.

  Sewer  trench  goes  back  to  the  mid  80's  to  early  90's  way  of  playing  crust,  grind  and  metal  and  they  show  how  the  roots  of  this  genre  throughout  the  recording,  the  production  sound s very  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark,  violent  and  anti  religion  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Sewer  Trench  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  grind,  crust  and  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genre,s  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Prisoners  of  Religion"  and  "Winter".  8  out  of  10.
