Filthy Christians/Mean/Earache Records/1990 CD Review

Filthy  Christians  where  a  band  from  Sweden  that  mixed  grindcore  with  crust  and  hardcore  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1990  album  "Mean"  which  was  released  by  Earache  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  in,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  grindcore,  crust,  thrash  and  hardcore  punk  together,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  primitive  sounding  hardcore  punk  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  grindcore  and  crust  style  growls,  while  the  lyrics  cover  hardcore,  drunk  driving,  and  hateful  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Filthy  Christians  where  a  good  sounding  grindcore/crustcore  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECEMMONDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Scene"  "Drunk  Driver'  ""The  Disease"  and  "if  You're  Hardcore...  I'm  Not!".  RECEMMONDED  BUY.
