Tyrants Of Hell are a and from Florida that has been featured before in this zine and plays an old school form of grindcore with elements of crust, thrash and death metal and this is a review of their 2015 ep "Haggard And Rotten" which was released on cassette by WHORT Records.
Distorted reverb's start off the ep before going into a very fast and old school grindcore direction that also uses a great amount of blast beats and death metal growls while the solos and leads also bring back a bit of the mid 80's Tampa style and after awhile high pitched screams make their presence known.
When angry shouts are added into the music they give the music an old school hardcore punk feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear the more extreme side of 80's thrash metal in the bands musical style and they also bring in a cover of Slaughter's "One Foot In The Grave". 8 out of 10.
Tyrants Of Hell records another ep that goes back to the mid 80's and early 90's styles of crust, grind, death metal and thrash and ignore all modern trends of the past 25 years to create some raw and filthy extreme metal, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover horror, gore and death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Tyrants Of Hell and if you are a fan of grindcore with a touch of thrash, crust and death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nuclear Ogre" and "Consuming Mania". 8 out of 10.
