This is a review of a split album between Belgium's Agathocles and Poland's Psychoneurosis which was released by Selfmadegod Records and we will start off the review with Agathocles who return with their style of mincecore.
Their side of the split starts out with angry voices before going into a heavier musical direction while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats along with the vocals being a mixture of growls and screams as well as the music bringing in elements of crust punk.
Throughout their side of the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while most of their tracks are very short in length and the music always remains heavy and brutal, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover anti racism, political and anarchy themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Agathocles and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "ergos thanatos" and "war fetisjists kill".
Next up is Psychoneurosis a band that plays a mixture of crust and grindcore.
Their side of the split starts out with a dark sounding intro before going into a very fast and brutal grindcore direction which also uses a great amount of blast beats while the vocals also bring in a mixture of screams and crust style growls along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
All of their tracks are very short in length while the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody as well as the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violent and angry themes.
In my opinion Psychoneurosis are a very great sounding mixture of crust and grindcore and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Indoctrination" and "The Grindcore Family'.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of crust, mince and grindcore. 8 out of 10.
