Acephalix are a band from San Francisco that mixes Swedish style death metal with crust punk and this is a review of their 2011 album "Interminable Night" which will be released by Southern Lord Records.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast with a great amount of blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a dark tone which is kind of mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful with some punk/grind riffs.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffs that utilize influences from both classic style Swedish death metal and crust punk with some melodic riffing being used at times as for the lead guitars they are very chaotic death metal/punk rock guitar solos.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls with some high pitched screams being thrown in at times, while he lyrics cover death, lack, lst, anti christian and daemonic themes, as for the production it has a very heavy and raw sound while still being professional sounding.
In my opinion Acephalix are very good Swedish style death metal/crust punk hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Christhole" "Daemonic Sign" and "Rebirth Into Perversion". RECEMMONDED BUY.
