Bones are a band from Chicago, Illinois that consists of ex-members from Usurper that plays a musical style that combines death metal with thrash metal and crust punk and this is a review of their self titled 2011 album which was released by Planet Metal Records.
Drums range from midpaced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats, while the bass playing has a very powerful and dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and you can hear the instrument throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from midpaced to fast and primitive riffing that combines influences from death and thrash metal with crust punk, while the lead guitars when they are utilized are very chaotic and primitive sounding underground metal leads.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal/crustcore growls, while the lyrics cover dark, satanic and occultic themes, as for the production it sounds very heavy and raw but still professional emough up to the point where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Bones are a very great and brutal band that combines death/thrash metal with crust punk and if you are a fan of bands that combine these styles together, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "March Of The Dead' "Bloodlust" "Apocalyptic Warrior" and "666". RECEMMONDED BUY.
