Bastard Priest/Under The Hammer Of Destruction/Pulverized Records/2010 CD Review

Bastard Priest are a band from Sweden that mixes old school death metal with crust/grind and this is a review of their 2010 album "Under The Hammer Of Destruction" which was released by Pulverized Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced, to fast drumming with alot of brutal blast beats being thrown in, while the bass playing is mixed down low in the mix and follows the riffs that are coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars are mostly fast and raw sounding death metal riffs that slow down at times and also have a good amount of crust influences, while the lead guitars are mostly early 90's raw death metal guitar solos that has a thrash edge at times.

Vocals are a cross between death metal and grindcore growls, while the lyrics cover gory themes with an evil edge, as for the production it has a raw and old school sound that makes the music sound very primal,

In my opinion Bastard Priest are a very good band that should appeal to all fans of old school death metal with a crusty edge. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blasphemy From Hell" "Evil Pain" "From Beyond" and "Graveyard Sacrifice". RECEMMONDED BUY.
