Quartier Rouge/Les Annes Lumeires/Throatruiner Records/2010 CD Review

Quartier Rouge  are  a  band  from  France  that  plays  a  noisy  form  of  hardcore  mixed  with  grindcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2010  album  "Les  Annes  Lumeires"  which  was  released  by  Throatruiner  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  noisy  hardcore  with  grindcore  mixed  in  with  some  technical  and  progressive  riffing  that  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  distortion  and  there are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  range  from  early  80's  hardcore  yells,  weird  clean  singing  and  high  pitched  grind/crustcore  screams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  hateful  themes  with  the  songs  being  written  in  French,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Quartier  Rouge  are  a  very  great  sounding  hardcore/power  violence/crust/grind  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Propheite  Canine"  "Inpetto"  "Mange  Le  Monde"  and  "Urizen".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
