Yog are a band from Switzerland that plays a mixture of grind, crust and math metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Half The Sky" which was released by Division Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming from the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine grindcore, crust and math metal together mixed in with a great amount of technical riffing and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are a mixture of high pitched grindcore screams and hardcore style growls with a brief spoken word part being used on the last song, while the lyrics cover hateful themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Yog are a very great sounding grindcore/crust/math metal hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should c heck out this band. RECOMMENDED BUY.
