Perikato are a band from Finland that plays a mixture of punk, crust, grind and power violence and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Kovat Ajat" which was released by Ektro Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast, heavy, raw and primitive riffs that combine crust, punk, power violence and grind together to create a sound of their own and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals range from hardcore punk style to shouts to deep growls, while t he lyrics cover political themes, as for the production it has a very heavy, noisy, raw and primitive sound in the mid 80's to early 90's hardcore/crust vein.
In my opinion Perikato are a very great sounding hybrid of crust, punk, power violence and grind and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED BUY.
