This is a review of a split album between Netherland's Blood I Bleed and Czech Republic's Lycanthrophy which was released by Selfmadegod Records in the year of 2013 and we will start off the review with Blood I Bleed a band that plays a mixture of grind and thrashcore.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into their music, while the bass guitars have a very strong and powerful sound with heavy and grinding riffs that dominate throughout their side of the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine brutal grind and thrashcore together to create a sound of their own along with a brief use of punk elements a s well as some heavy distortion and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on their side of the recording except for one song.
Vocals range from high pitched grin screams, hardcore style yells and some deep growls, while the song lyrics cover violent and hateful themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on their side of the recording and most of the songs are under a minute.
In my opinion Blood I Bleed are a very great sounding hybrid of brutal grind and thrashcore, you should check out their side of the recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Deportation Class" "Lust" and "Like The Whore You Are". RECOMMENDED.
Next up is Lycanthrophy a band that plays a mixture of power violence and grindcore.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass guitars have a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars and at time s they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine brutal grindcore with crust and power violence to create a sound of their own and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on their side of the recording.
Vocals range from high pitched grindcore screams, crust style yells and deep growls as well as a brief use of spoken word samples, while the lyrics cover violent and hateful themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Lycanthrophy are a very great sounding hybrid of brutal grindcore and power violence with the best music on this split and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of grindcore, crust, thrashcore and power violence. RECOMMENDED BUY.
