Drugs Of Faith are a band from Virginia that has been featured before in this zine with a musical style I would describe as being a mixture of crust, power violence and grindcore and this is a review of their 2013 album "Architectural Failures' which was released bu Malokul.
"The Incumbent" begins with some drum beats before the fast guitar riffs, blast beats and aggressive crust vocals start kicking in along with some distorted bass guitars and then the vocals start adding in some screams before slowing down for a few seconds and adding in some melodic guitar riffing as well as a brief use of spoken word parts.
"Insanity" begins with some powerful and distorted bass guitars which lead to some drums and melodic guitar riffs and the hardcore style vocals start kicking in and a minute later there is a brief use of guitar leads and towards the end there is a brief use of blast beats and growls.
"Paper Trails" begins with some powerful bass guitars and then the drums and vocals start kicking in along with some guitar riffs and after a minute there is a brief use of acoustic guitars, spoken word parts, distortion and melodic riffing before getting heavy again and adding in a small amounts of growls.
"Placing Bets" begins with some bass guitar riffs, grindcore guitar riffs, drums and shouting vocals and then the music starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
Song lyrics cover everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Drugs Of Faith and if you are a fan of crust, power violence and grindcore, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Insanity" and "Placing Bets". RECOMMENDED BUY.
