This is a review of a split ep between Massachusetts's Beartrap and Idaho's Hummingbird Of Death which will be released as a joint effort between Give Praise, To Live A Lie, Here And Now Records and Riotous Outburst and we will start off the review with Beartrap a band that plays power violence.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast grindcore sound along with a great amount of blast beats and crust style shouting and all of their songs are very short in length and either stick to a mid paced or fast musical direction and they close their side of the split with a cover of Project X's "Cross Me", the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Beartrap are a very great sounding power violence band if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Demon" and "Cross Me".
Next up is Hummingbird Of Death a band that has been featured before in this zine and plays power violence.
Their side of the split starts out with death metal growls and screams before going into a very fast grindcore direction t hat uses a great amount of blast beats while the vocals a re mostly in a crust or hardcore style and all of their songs are very short in length and stick to a fast musical direction, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover angry themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Hummingbird Of Death and if you are a fan of power violence, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Human Train Wreck" and "Endless Vertigo".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of power violence. 8 out of 10.
