Keitzer are a band from Germany that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of death metal, grind, hardcore and crust and this is a review of their 2017 album "Ascension" which will be released in March by Give Praise.
A very fast and brutal grindcore sound starts off the album along with a great amount of brutal blast beats and death metal growls and after awhile high pitched grindcore screams are added onto the recording and the riffs also use a decent amount of melody and the mid tempo sections add in touches of hardcore.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the guitar leads have a very technical edge to them while also being very melodic at the same time and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of middle eastern scales and ethnic instruments can be heard before making a return back to a heavier direction and a later track also mixes folk instruments in with the heavier sections of the music.
Keitzer creates another recording t hat remains true to the death metal, grind, crust and hardcore mixture of previous releases while focusing more on the death metal side this time around, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover world downfall themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Keitzer and if you are a fan of death metal, grind, hardcore and crust, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "We Will Drown All Of You In Blood" "Ubermensch" "Conquistador" and "Wolves Among Us". 8 out of 10.
