The Brood are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a mixture of crust punk, death metal and grind with some elements of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "The Truth Behind" which will be released in February by Give Praise.
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the album along with all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and spoken word samples are also used at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of brutal blast beats can be heard and the vocals use both death metal growls and high pitched grindcore screams.
A great portion of t he tracks a re very short in length and the songs also mix in elements of hardcore, crust and d beat and one track also adds in a touch of noise and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses more black metal influences are added onto the recording and some songs also bring in back up shouts.
The Brood plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in crust punk, hardcore, grind and death metal while also mixing in a touch of black metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror and gore themes.
In my opinion The Brood are a very great sounding mixture of crust punk, death metal and grind with a touch of black metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Barbie Voorhees" "Descending Into Madness" "Mud Doll Factory" and "Repeated Slaughter Of the Undead Cunt". 8 out of 10.
