Bio Crisis are a band from Mexico that plays a mixture of crust and grindcore and this is a review of their 2012 album En Memoria Al Dolor" which was released by Replenish Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording, as for the violins they are only used briefly on one song and they add some originality to the album.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine crust and grindcore together to create a sound of their own with some post rock influences being thrown into the riffing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding hardcore punk guitar solos and leads that utilize some post rock elements, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized use finger picking to bring more darkness to the album.
Vocals range from high pitched grindcore screams to deep crust/death metal growls as well as some spoken word samples along with some hardcore style shouting, while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover violent and everyday themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Bio Crisis are a very great sounding hybrid of crust, grind, hardcore and post rock and if you are a fan of those musical genre's, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Urbe Violenta" "Imperio Lan Llamas" "Hacia Los Sombras" and "Delirio". RECOMMENDED BUY.
