Uncle Bob Drives A Combine are a band from Wisconsin that plays a mixture of grindcore, crust and thrash with a musical style they label as being farmcore and this is a review of their 2008 album "The Farmers Almanac" which was released by Gilead Media.
Drums programming ranges from slow, mid paced to fast beats while also mixing in samplers, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars, as for the sound effects w hen t hey are utilized briefly bring elements of avant garde, noise and experimental to the album.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine thrash, crust and grindcore together to create a sound of their own, while the lead guitars which are only used briefly are blues rock style guitar solos and leads, as for t he acoustic guitar parts they use finger picking and full chords to add elements of country to the album.
Vocals range from high pitched grindcore screams, crust style shouts, deep death metal growls as well as some spoken word parts and samples, while the lyrics cover farm themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and powerful sound to it.
In my opinion Uncle Bob Drives A Combine are a very great sounding hybrid of experimental, grind, crust and thrash and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dream" "Death" "Dollar Bills" and "Birth". RECOMMENDED BUY.
