This is a review of a split album between United Kingdom/Poland's Herida Profunda and United Kingdom's Hellbastard which was released by Here And Now Records! and we will start off the review with Herida Profunda a band that plays a mixture of hardcore, crust and grind.
Their side of the split starts out with all the drums, bass and rhythm guitars sounding powerful ad you can also hear noise elements and spoken word parts at times and when the music speeds up a good mixture of growls and screams are added into the music as well as some blast beats that also gives the songs more of a grindcore edge and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the melodies also bring in a touch of post hardcore, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover violent, hateful and political themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Herida Profunda and if you are a fan of crust and grind, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "1312" and "Cyrk".
Next up is Hellbastard a band that has been around for a long time and plays more of a thrash influenced form of crustcore.
Their side of the split starts out with a piano intro along with some symphonic elements and after the intro heavy thrash riffs and aggressive hardcore style vocals are added into the music and the music also brings in melodies and elements of crust along with the songs bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and at times spoken word parts can be heard while the solos and leads remain true to an old school metal style, the production sound s very powerful and old school while the lyrics cover angry and political themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Hellbastard and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Praise Of Cats" and "Going Postal".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of crust and grindcore. 8 out of 10.
