This is a review of another recording from Germany's Blood which is also in the noisecore, grind, and death metal mixture and the album was originally released in 1994 and called "Mental Conflicts" and will be re-issued on June 23rd by Vic Records.
A very heavy sound along with a small amount of melodic riffing starts off the album and after awhile the music goes into a very fast and brutal grindcore direction along with a great amount of blast beats and death metal growls and a great portion of the tracks are very short in length.
After awhile high pitched screams start to make their presence known while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses elements of crust and noisecore are added onto the recording and when guitar leads are utilized they remain true to a style of death/grind and world war II samples are also used briefly.
Blood created a recording during t his time that was very much in the noisecore, grind and death metal style they where known for while also having a huge influence on later bands, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover gore, anti Christianity, society and politics themes.
In my opinion this was a very great sounding recording from Blood and if you are a fan of noisecore, grind and death metal, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Insomnia" "Secrets Of Blood" "Away Is Away" and "Morpheus". 8 out of 10.
