Expulsion are a band from the United States that consists of members from Exhumed, Repulsion, Gruesome, Phobia, and Intronaut that plays a mixture of grindcore, crust and punk and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Nightmare Future" which will be released in July by Relapse Records.
Powerful sounding bass guitar leads start of the ep before going into a very fast and brutal grindcore direction which also introduces blast beats and death metal growls onto the recording and most of the tracks a re very short in length along with a great amount of 80's and early 90's influences.
A small amount of melody can be heard in the guitar riffing while the solos and leads add in more of an old school death metal style and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a great amount of punk and crust elements can be heard throughout the recording and the music always remains very heavy.
Expulsion plays a musical style that takes old school death metal, grindcore, crust and punk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and horror themes.
In my opinion Expulsion are a very great sounding mixture of death metal, grindcore, crust and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Altar Of Slaughter" "Funeral Bells" and "Comatose". 8 out of 10.
