RacheEngel are a solo project from Germany that plays a mixture of goth, death, doom and power metal and this is a review of his self released 2017 album "Ascheregen".
Atmospheric sounding keyboards start off the album along with some goth elements and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion along with the vocals also bringing in a great amount of clean singing as well as the slower sections of the songs adding in a touch of doom metal.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while death metal growls are also added into certain sections of the songs along wit the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of melody, elements of power metal can be heard in some of t he guitar leads as well as some of the tracks being very long and epic in length and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can also be heard and all of the songs stick to either or slow or mid paced direction.
RacheEngel plays a musical style that takes death, goth, doom and power metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are written in German and cover horror, fantasy, philosophy, religion and history themes.
In my opinion RacheEngel are a very great sounding mixture of death, doom, goth and power metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hinter schwarzem Lichte" "Ascheregen" "Der Ferne nah" and "Wenn der Regen fallt". 8 out of 10.
