Massive Obliteration are a band from France that plays a mixture of crust, grindcore and death metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep which will be released on September 20th by Bleed Records.
Powerful sounding bass guitars start off the ep along with some distorted amp noises before going into a heavier direction along with some death metal growls while the riffs also add in a small amount of dark sounding melodies before going into a faster grindcore direction as well as introducing blast beats onto the recordng.
Elements of crust and d beat can also be heard at timed while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music being very heavily rooted in the early 90's as well as some high pitched screams also being added into certain sections of the recording and most of the tracks are very short in length.
Massive Obliteration plays a musical style that goes back to the mid 80's to early 90's era of crust, grindcore, and death metal, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover reality of life, political and social issue themes.
In my opinion Massive Obliteration are a very great sounding mixture of crust, grindcore and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Leads To Extinction" and "Chained To Consumerism". 8 out of 10.
