Idols Plague are a band from San Diego, California that plays a mixture of punk, grind, thrash and experimental and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Nursery Crimes" which was released by Contorted Records.
A very heavy and fast sound starts off the album along with some blast beats and aggressive crust punk style vocals and there is also a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some experimental rock elements and there is a great amount of diversity in the bands musical style.
You can hear a variety of many different musicla styles in the bands musical direction ranging from punk, hardcore, crust, grindcore, power violence, and thrash along with some experimental parts and the band does not really use much in the way of guitar solos on any of the tracks they bring to this ep and after awhile a small amount of death metal growls can be heard in certain sections of the recording.
Idols Plague bring together a variety of many different metal and punk genres together to create the sound that is present on this recording, the production sounds very powerful and heavy while the lyrics cover humorous themes.
In my opinion Idols Plague are a very great sounding mixture of punk, grind, thrash and experimental and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dream Whore" and "Fetal Juice". 8 out of 10.
