This is a review of a split ep between Germany's Blood and U.S.A's Impetigo called "Antefatto/Salvation To The Dead" and re-issued in 2015 by Bizarre Leprous Productions and we will start off the review with Blood aband that plays a mixture of brutal death metal, goregrind and noisecore.
A very fast, raw and brutal death/grind sounds start off their side of t he split along with growling vocals and a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats and some of the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the vocals can also be very guttural at times and the speed brings in a touch of noisecore and crust at times a later track also brings in a brief use of high pitched screams and guitar leads, the production sounds very brutal for the time it was recorded while the lyrics cover gore themes.
In my opinion this was a very great sounding recording from Blood and if you are a fan of brutal death metal and goregrind, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blood" and "Twisted Bodies".
Next up is Impetigo A band that played a mixture of noise, death metal and grind.
Their side of the split starts out with horror movie samples before going for more of a raw and brutal death/grind sound along with some growling vocals and after awhile high p[itched screams are added into some parts of the songs and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when blast beats are utilized they add more brutality to the songs.
They also mix in the horror movie samples with the heavier parts and the vocals also sound very guttural for the era it was recorded and they also close their side of the split with 2 live tracks and the songs also always remain heavy and brutal and when solos and leads are utilized by add in more of a mid 80's goregrind felling and some songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also bring in a touch of crust, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover torture, death, gore, sickness and zombies.
In my opinion Impetigo where a very great sounding mixture of death metal, noise and grind and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this legendary band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Boneyard And Cannibal Apocalypse".
In conclusion I fell this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of brutal death metal and goregrind. 8 out of 10.
