PTAO are a band from the Czech Republic that plays a musical style they describe as psychodelic noisecore and this is a review of their 2015 album "Ptaoism" which was released by Bizarre Leprous Productions.
Guitar amp noises start off the album along with some high pitched screams, growls and harsh noise sounds and the music also uses a great amount of blast beats and angry shouts and at times you can also hear elements of avant garde jazz in certain sections of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some psychedelic elements and the songs are very heavily rooted in noisecore and also bring in some elements of the early 90's side of the genre while the music still sounds very modern and you can also hear a touch of cybergrind in some of the songs.
PTAO plays a musical style that mixes noisecore, grind and brutal death metal with psychedelia, harsh noise and avant garde jazz to create a very original sounding recording, the production sounds very raw yet heavy at the same time while lyrics seem to focus on angry themes.
In my opinion PTAO are a very great sounding psychodelic noisecore album and if you are looking for something original in this genre, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
