Subterror are a band from Brazil that plays a mixture of death metal, grindcore and crust and this is a review of their 2015 album "Antropornortum" which was released by Black Hole Productions.
Spoken word samples start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction and a few seconds later death metal growls start becoming a very huge part of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear melodies being added into certain sections of the recording.
When the music speeds up you can hear elements of Swedish death metal along with a great amount of brutal blast beats and they also mix in a great amount of crust and grind influences and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the tracks also bring in a brief use of melodies and guitar leads and the whole album also sticks to a very heavy musical direction from beginning to ending of the recording.
Subterror goes back to the early 90's style of death metal, grindcore and crust and mix them in with a more modern touch to create some very fast, heavy and raw sounding music, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in their native tongue and cover anti human, nihilism, personal struggles and hate themes.
In my opinion Subterror are a very great sounding mixture of death metal, grind and crust and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Pathos" "Iconaclasta" and "Distopia". 8 out of 10.
