  This  is  the  final  review  of  a  recording  from  Russia's  The  occult  which  continues  their  mixture  of  death  metal  and  crust  and  the  album  was  self  released  in  2018  and  called  "Necropolis".

  A  very  fast  and  brutal  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  screams  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  A  lot  of  Swedish  death  metal  influences  and  crust  elements  can  be  heard  in  the  bands  musical style  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  bringing  in  more  of  a  death'n'roll  sound  and  the  music  always  remains  very  heavy  and  brutal.

  The  Occult  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  their  mixture  of  death  metal  and  crust,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover  Human  Unrest  themes.

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  The  Occult  which  shows  the  music  going  into  more  of  a  mixture of  death  metal  and  crust  and  the  ep  was  released  in  2014  and  called  "III".

  Elements  of  d  beat  and  crust  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  music  also  having  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding  in  some  melodies  at  times.

  On  this  recording  The  Occult  move  way  from  hardcore  and  go  into  more  of  a  mixture  of  death  metal  and  crust,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover  human  unrest  themes.

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Russia's  The  Occult  with  the  music  mixing  in  elements  of  d  beat  and  death  metal  into t heir  hardcore  style  and  the  album  was  self  released  in  2013  and  called  "Omega".

  A  very  fast  sound  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  hardcore  style  screaming  a  few  seconds  later  while  the  solos  and  leads  get  very  technical  at  times  as  well  as  the  music  also  bringing  in  a  decent  amount  of  d  beats  and  the  riffs  also  use  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  mixing  in  elements  of  post  hardcore  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  small  amount  of  spoken  word  parts  and  whispers  are  added  onto  the  recording  and  a  later  song  also  introduces  acoustic  guitars  into  the  music.

  On  this  recording  The  Occult  expands  on  their  hardcore  style  by  adding  in  elements  of  d  beat  and  death  metal,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover   Gnosticism  and  Human  Unrest  themes.

  The  Occult  are  a  band  from  Russia  that  plays  a  mixture  of  death  metal,  crust  and  hardcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2011  demo  which  was  released  by  Incarnate  Records.

  Distorted  amp  noises  start  off  the  demo  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  which  also  introduces  screaming  hardcore  style  vocals  onto  the  recording  while  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  along  with  the  riffs  also  bringing  in  the  heaviness  of  death  metal  as  well  as  the  music  bringing  in  a  lot  of  influences  that  where  very  modern  for  2011  and  when t he  music  finally  speeds  up  a  small  amount  of  d  beats  can  be  heard.

  On  this  recording  The  occult  focuses  more  on  a  hardcore  influenced  style  rather  than  the  death  metal  and  crust  mixture  that  they  got  more  known  for  on  later  releases.  the  production  sounds  very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  human  unrest  themes.

  MxAxMxA  are  a  band  from  Russia  that  plays  a  mixture  of  grind  and  hardcore  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  ep  "Do  Not  Hurt  This  Little  Brother"  which  was  released  by  No  Bread!  Records.

  Children  music  samples  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction  while  all  of  the  tracks  are  very  short  in  length  along  with  one  of  the  tracks  being  an  instrumental  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  grindcore  elements  can  be  heard  as w ell  as  the  riffs  using  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  MxAxMxA  plays  a  musical  style  that  is  mostly  rooted  in  grind  and  hardcore  punk  while  also  mixing  in  influences  from  each  genres  to  create  something  original,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Russian  and  cover  humor  and  drugs  themes.

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  distorted  style  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to t hem  along  with  the  faster  sections  bringing  in  a  great  amount  of  brutal  blast  beats  and  grindcore  elements.

  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  growls  and  screams  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  elements  of  crust,  d  beat  and  hardcore  punk  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  avant  garde  style  structures  being  added  into  the  guitar  riffing  at  times,  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  and  spoken  word  samples  can  also  be  heard  and  the  closing  track  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Butcher  A.B.C  are  a  band  from  Japan  that  plays  a  mixture  of  noisecore,  goregrind  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album "North  Of  Hell"  which  was  released  by Selfmadegod  Records.

  A  very  distorted  and  horror  orientated  intro  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into    heavier  musical  direction  and  after  awhile  guttural  death  metal  growls  are  added  onto  the  recording  why  old  school  growls  are  also  used  at  times  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  d  beats  can  be  heard.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  grindcore  elements  are  added  onto  the  recording  while  blast  beats  are  also  used  at  times  along  with  a  great  amount  of  80's  and  90's  influences  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to them  and  some  of  the  riffing  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies,  throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  closing  track  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  also  brings  in  a  small  amount  of  melodic  guitar  leads.

  Butcher  A.B.C  plays  a  musical  style  that  goes back  to  the  90's  era  of  death  metal  and  goregrind  while  also  mixing  in  elements  of  noisecore  and  d  beat  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  gore  and  butchery  themes.

  One  Day  In  Fukushima  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  plays  a  mixture  of  death  metal,  grind,  crust  and  hardcore  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "Ozymandias"  which  was  released  by  Eclectic  Productions.

  Distorted  amp  noises  start  off  the  album  going  into  a  very  fast  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  bring  in  a  mixture  of  screams  and  growls  along  with  most  of  the  tracks  being  very  short  in  length  and  the  riffs  also  use  a  small  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies.

  A  very  fast  noisecore  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  high  pitched  screams  and  growls  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  riffing.

  Psychedelic  elements,  video  game  music  and  harsh  noises  sounds  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  music  bringing  in  an  experimental  and  improv  feeling  and  some  of  the  tracks  are  very  short  in  length  as  the  album  progresses. 

  On  this  recording  Brutal  Blues  gets  more  experimental  and  avant  garde  while  still  being  mostly  rooted  in  grind  and  noisecore,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  vocals  do  not  really  bring  out  any  lyrics.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Brutal  Blues  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  grind  and  noisecore,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "1"  "4"  "7"  and  "10".  8  out  of  10.  

Zombiefication/Below The Grief/Doomentia/2018 CD Review

  Zombiefication  are  a  band  from  Mexico  that  plays  an  old school  form  of  Swedish  influenced  death  metal  with  some  elements  of  black  metal  and  d  beat  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "Below  The  Grief"  which will  be  released  in  July  by  Doomentia.

  A  very  fast  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  while  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  along  with  the  music  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  d  beat  elements  and  the  vocals  also  bring  in  a mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  shouts.

  Elements  of  black  metal  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  music  also  brings  in  a  great mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  music  also  having  a  lot  of  roots  in  the  90's  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  and  some  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  a  couple  of  the  tracks  also  bring  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing.

  On  this  recording  Zombiefication  expands  on  their  old  school  death  metal  style  by  adding  in  elements  of  black  metal  and  d  beat  to  create  something  very  different,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  horror  and  occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Zombiefication  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  death  metal  with  some  elements  of  d  beat  and  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Blood  Falls"  "From  Death  To  It  Son"  and  "Sky  Burial".  8  out  of  10.    

Sissy Spacek/Ways Of Confusion/Nuclear War Now! Productions/2018 CD Review

  Sissy  Spacek  are  a  duo from  California  that  plays  a  mixture  of  harsh  noise  and  grindcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "Ways  of  COnfusion"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Nuclear  War  Now!  Productions.

  Powerful  sounding  bass  gutiars  start  off  the  album  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  bringing  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  bestial  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  screams  as  well  as  most  of  the  tracks  being  very  short  in  length.

  Most  of  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  grindcore  while  elements  of  harsh  noise  are  also  utilized  at  times  along  with  the  music  having  no  use  of  6  string  guitars  but  still  remaining  very  brutal  at  the  time  and  the  whole  album  sticks  mostly  to  a  fast  and  brutal  musical  direction.

  Sissy  Spacek  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  harsh  noise  and  grindcore  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent  and  angry  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Sissy  Spacek  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  harsh  noise  and  grindcore  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Leaving"  "Atrophy"  "Series  Of  Teeth"  and  "Entropic".  8  out  of  10.  

Lords Of The Stone/Roses For The Dead/Vic Records/2018 CD Compilation Review

  Lords  Of  The  Stone  where  a  band  from  the  Netherlands  that  played  a  progressive  mixture  of  doom  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018 compilation  album  "Roses  For  The  Dead"  which  was  released  by  Vic  Records.

  Classical  guitars  start  off  the  compilation  along  with  some  stringed  vocals  a  few  seconds  later  while  grim  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  briefly  before  going  into  a  heavier  doom  metal  direction  as  well  as  the  vocals  being  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  rough  yet  melodic  singing.

  A  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  along  with  some  songs  also  adding  in  female  vocals  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  goth  feeling  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  At  times  the  music  gets  very  progressive and  as  the  compilation  progresses  acoustic  guitars  and  clean  vocals  are  added  briefly  while  keyboards  when  they  are  utilized  gives  the  music  more  of  an  epic  and  symphonic  feeling  as  well  as  the  melodic  chants  giving  the  songs  more  of  a  pagan  atmosphere.

  Lords  Of  The  Stone  played  a  style  of  doom/death  metal  that  was  very  progressive  and  different  for  its  time,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Tolkien,  Fantasy,  Magick,  and  Beauty  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Lords  Of  The  Stone  where  a  very  great  sounding  progressive  mixture  of  doom  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Quest"  "When  All  Is  Forlorn"  "Memories" and  "Evil  Eye".  8  out  of  10.

    

Fading Bliss/Journeys Into Solitude/Malpermesita/2018 CD Review

  Fading  Bliss  are  a  band  from  Belgium  that  plays  a  mixture  of  gothic  and  atmospheric  doom/death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "Journeys  Into  Solitude"  which  was  released  by  Malpermesita.

  Melodic guitar  leads  start  off  the  album  while  clean  goth  vocals  are  also  used  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  as  well  as  a  great  amount  of  death  metal  growls  and  the  music  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  atmospheric  sounding  synths.

  A  great  amount  of  90's  doom/death  and  goth  metal  influences  can  be  heard  in  the  music  while  clean  playing  is  also  utilized  at  times  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  songs  also  add  female  vocals  into  certain  sections  of  the  music.

  All  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  one  of  the  songs  also  introduces  acoustic  guitars  onto  the  recording  along  with  the  riffing  also  bringing  in  a  great  amount  of  depressive  sounding  melodies,  they  also  bring  in  a  cover  of  The  Cure's  "Forest"  and  all  of  the  songs  stick  to  a  very  slow  direction.

  Fading  Bliss  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  90's  era  atmospheric  doom/death  metal  and  mixes  it  with  gothic  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  solitude,  despair,  melancholy,  and  self  discovery  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Fading  Bliss  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  gothic  and  atmospheric  doom/death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Ocean'  and  "Forest".  8  out  of  10.
