This is the final review of a recording from Russia's The occult which continues their mixture of death metal and crust and the album was self released in 2018 and called "Necropolis".
A very fast and brutal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and screams along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody.
A lot of Swedish death metal influences and crust elements can be heard in the bands musical style while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the solos and leads bringing in more of a death'n'roll sound and the music always remains very heavy and brutal.
The Occult creates another recording that remains true to their mixture of death metal and crust, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Human Unrest themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from The Occult and if you are a fan of death metal and crust, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bonfires of Vanity" "Devil's Tail" "Dogs of War" and "Enemy of All". 8 out of 10.
