Axia are a band from Portugal that plays a mixture of grind, hardcore and death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Pulverizer" which was released by Selfmadegod Records.
Distorted noises start off the album before going into a very fast grindcore direction which also uses a great amount of brutal blast beats while the vocals bring in a mixture of high pitched screams and death metal growls along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
Elements of crust and hardcore can also be heard in the music while most of the tracks are very short in length along with the songs also bringing in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the riffing also bringing in a great amount of groove and melody and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them, spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and as the album progresses a brief use of guitar leads, clean playing and melodic vocals can also be heard.
Axis plays a musical style that takes death metal, grind and hardcore and mixes them together to create a very brutal recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death and violence themes.
In my opinion Axia are a very great sounding mixture of death metal, grind and hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mass Suicide" "This Is The Sound Of Death""Shattering Glass" and "Means To An End'. 8 out of 10.
