Human Cull are a band from the United Kingdom that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of crust, d beat, grindcore and death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Reveenant" which was released by WOAAARGH.
Screams start off the album along with some heavy and melodic riffing before going into a very fast direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats while all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to t hem as well as a great amount of death metal growls being utilized.
A great amount of d beats can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the songs also bring in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the tracks being very short in length and the music always remains very heavy and brutal throughout the recording.
On this recording Human Cull remains true to their mixture of crust and grindcore while also adding in more death metal elements to take their sound to another level, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover totalitarianism in an imagined medieval cyberpunk future.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Human Cull and if you are a fan of crust, grindcore and death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blood" "Unmake The Graves" "The Worms Of God" and "Endless Purgatory". 8 out of 10.
