Lonely Grave are a band from Sweden that plays a mixture of power violence and grindcore and this is a review of their 2018 album "Craterface" which will be released on June 29th by Discouraged Records.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album along with a great amount of evil high pitched screams before going into a very fast d beat influenced direction while blast beats are also used at times along with the vocals also adding in some hardcore style shouting and the music also brings in a great amount of power violence elements.
Dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a great portion of the tracks being very short in length as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and as the album progresses a brief use of harsh noise elements can also be heard.
Lonely Grave plays a musical style that takes power violence, d beat and grindcore and mixes them together to create a very brutal sounding recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover delusion, god, lust and paranoia themes.
In my opinion Lonely Grave are a very great sounding mixture of power violence and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Extremist" "Simian Laughter" "They Shall Take Up Serpents" and "The Three Beggars". 8 out of 10.
