Fatum are a band from Russia that plays a mixture of crust, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Life Dungeons"which will be released on June 23rs by Distro-y Records.
Distorted guitar amp noises start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction which also introduces elements of thrash onto the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
A lot of the vocals bring in an early death metal style when it was still evolving from thrash while elements of crossover and crust punk can be heard in the bands musical style and melodies can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and the solos and leads also remain true to an old school metal and elements of speed metal can also be heard as the album progresses and while the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's it still sounds very modern and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean guitars and the last track is also very long and epic in length.
Fatum plays a musical style that goes back to the 80's styles of death, thrash metal and mixes them together to create a very heavy yet retro sounding recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover social issues.
In my opinion Fatum are a very great sounding mixture of crust, death, and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Informational Battlefield" "Escape The Dungeon" and "The Man Behind". 8 out of 10.
