Axis Of Despair are a band from Sweden that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays grindcore with a touch of crust and this is a review of their 2018 album "Contempt For Man" which will be released on July 27th by Southern Lord.
A very fast and brutal grindcore sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats while the vocals bring in more of a crust approach while growls and screams are also used at times as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
A decent amount of melody can also be heard in the guitar riffing while most of the tracks are very short in length along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of melody and the music always remains very heavy.
Axis Of Despair creates another recording that remains true to their mixture of crust and grindcore, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of Swedish and English and cover violent, angry and political themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Axis Of Despair and if you are a fan of crust and grindcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Demons And Angels" "The Punishment Begins" "Into The hard Earth" and "A Brutal Truth". 8 out of 10.
