Crawl are a band from Sweden that plays a mixture of death metal, hardcore and crust punk and this is a review of their 2018 album "Rituals" which will be released in August by Transcending Obscurity Records.
Back wards record masking starts off the album before into a heavier direction which also introduces death metal growls onto the recording while the music also brings in a great amount of hardcore, crust punk and d beat elements along with a great amount of 90's era Swedish influences.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the riffs also utilizing a decent amount of dark sounding melodies, all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music always remains heavy.
Crawl plays a musical style that takes 90's era Swedish death metal and mixes it with hardcore and crust punk to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death and occultism themes.
In my opinion Crawl are a very great sounding mixture of death metal, hardcore and crust punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Reject The Cross" "Black Ritual" "Sentenced To Rot" and "Coven of Servants". 8 out of 10.
